Regional Consultant

BROAD SCOPE OF POSITIONBROAD SCOPE OF POSITION:  CLiC anticipates hiring a Regional Consultant to provide a variety of services for member libraries.  The consultant may be located in the Denver area or the northeast part of Colorado and work from both the CLiC main office and from home.  The regional consultant reports to the Executive Director.

Consultants are responsible for providing leadership in librarianship and library-related technologies in Colorado.  The consultant works with CLiC staff and other organizations in planning, evaluating, promoting, and coordinating learning opportunities and consulting that promote improved library services. School library experience is highly preferred.  Knowledge of Web 2.0 applications and online learning theory and practice is preferred.  Active involvement in professional associations is expected.

CLiC regional consultants work both independently and in groups; work efficiently under pressure; have excellent communication skills; are willing to travel; are knowledgeable about public, school, academic and/or special library communities; and productively handle variety and change. 

Positions require a bachelor’s degree with post graduate work in a library-related professional program; a master degree from an ALA or NCATE accredited school is preferred.  Three or more years of progressive working experience in libraries is required, five or more years of experience in more than one type of library is preferred.


Monthly Salary: $4,167
