CLiC's Scholarship Application for the Colorado Educator's Institute II in DC
CLiC is offering 2 (two) $250 scholarships to librarians interested in attending this Educator Institute in Washington DC. Please apply by the end of the day FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 29 through the online application below. Winners will be randomly drawn. Winners will be contacted and listed on the CLiC website (www.clicweb.org) on Monday October 2. The funds must be sent to your library institution not you personally. Recipients will be expected to present a one-hour session (travel expenses paid by CLiC) at one of the three CLiC spring workshops in March or April in either Greeley, Grand Junction, or Pueblo.
What is the Institute:
Colorado educators and librarians have a unique opportunity to tour the Library of Congress with Sherrie Galloway, educator-in-residence from Grand Junction. Sherrie, school librarian on loan to the Library of Congress until December, will be offering a week long workshop with a focus on the many resources for use in K-12 classrooms. While many resources are available on-line and participants will receive instruction and hands-on computer time to search those collections, the rare treat will be to see behind the scenes, look at special collections on reading room tours, and meet with LOC content specialists.
