(Apply by January 15, 2012)BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION: CLiC anticipates hiring a Regional Consultant to provide a variety of services for 400-plus member libraries. The consultant may be located anywhere within Colorado. The regional consultant reports to the Executive Director. Consultants are responsible for providing leadership in librarianship and library-related technologies in Colorado. The consultant works with CLiC staff and other organizations in planning, evaluating, promoting, and coordinating learning opportunities and consulting that promote improved library services. Experience using integrated library systems and working with continuing education of library staff is expected. The Regional Consultant also supports the AspenCat library system based on the Koha open source system. Knowledge of web 2.0 applications, online learning theory and practice, and experience in school libraries is preferred. Active involvement in professional associations is expected. CLiC regional consultants work both independently and in groups; work efficiently under pressure; have excellent communication skills; are willing to travel; are knowledgeable about public, school, academic and/or special library communities; and productively handle variety and change. Positions require a bachelor’s degree with postgraduate work in a library-related professional program; a master's degree from an ALA or NCATE accredited school is strongly preferred. Three or more years of progressive working experience in libraries is required, and five or more years of experience in more than one type of library is preferred.
