In a surprise announcement at the recent 2017 Colorado Association of Libraries annual CAL Awards banquet, CLiC received the 2017 President’s Award!
During her introduction of the award, CAL President Dana Abbey shared these thoughts:
“The recipient of the 2017 President’s Award is a colleague to all who work in and support libraries in Colorado. They are eager to share their skills and expertise, but are just as happy to listen to your needs, concerns, and ideas. They log thousands of miles a year traversing lone two-lane highways, treacherous mountain passes, and rush-hour traffic to provide training, support, and materials.
“I am pleased to announce the winner of the 2017 President’s Award is the staff of the Colorado Library Consortium, or as most of us say, “CLiC.” I would like Jim Duncan, Executive Director, to accept the award on behalf of CLiC, and would also like to have any CLiC staff join us on stage. The CLiC dream team includes:
“Congratulations, and thank you for supporting vital library services including AspenCat, the Library Courier, the CLiC Spring Workshops (as well as other professional development), Colleague on Call, Electronic Resources licensing, and just generally being awesome!”

Pushing the envelope on behalf of libraries, staff members constantly scan the horizon for opportunities to enhance library services and collections. Bringing training right to your back yard!
We will be offering the regional workshops on a variety of different dates and locations to best accommodate AspenCat member libraries all over the state. We did our best to find dates and locations that would work well for everyone’s schedules and we hope to see lots of you there for a fun, focused afternoon of learning.
This year’s workshops will be shorter, have more focused content, and more breaks sprinkled throughout. These workshops should provide a good breadth of different topics that should be useful for AspenCat library staff in all areas of service.
The workshops are free of cost to you and CLiC will be providing lunch and light breakfast snacks. We will try to accommodate dietary restrictions to the best of our ability, however if you have a very specialized diet, we recommend that you bring along your own lunch and snacks.
All workshops start at their respective locations at 10AM and run until about 2PM. Dates and locations are listed below, for reference. When registering, you’ll be required to pick ONE location.
It feels like the 2017 Spring Workshop season was just a few weeks ago, but we’re already gearing up for our 2018 season!
